Samsung Washing Machine Product Codes, What Are The Differences?
Hi all,
New here so this if first time posting.. We've been looking at replacing our old washing machine and have been looking at the Samsung models. They seem fairly well priced at the moment and I have been doing a bit of research but have found there are models that look identical, have the same technical specifications on the website but have different model numbers so I'm trying to find out what the product code / model numbers mean. As an example, there is a WF80F5E0W4W and a WF80F5E2W4W model, but I can't find anywhere that says what the 0 or 2 means. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

If they are both current models the only real difference between any of the models, especially when they look the same otherwise should be features. If you carefully examine all of the features you should find there are some differences somewhere such as option buttons, the type of programs or just anything that justifies them putting them up in competition with each other. If they advertise exactly the same features and tech specifications though then there may be no difference at all other than production dates. It does seem bizarre to have apparently identical models with different model numbers but maybe they do it differently to most other manufacturers who keep the same model numbers but use product numbers to differentiate production dates or changes of factories.

Hi Gratz
Yes you're correct the difference in number is to signify the colour of the door!
As an approved repairer for Samsung we repair a lot of appliances on their behalf so have direct access and contact with them and their technical team. In addition to this our engineers are all trained directly by Samsung so we know a thing or two about their appliances! :-)
For example; did you know you could work out exactly which month and year your appliance was manufactured from the serial number?
The newer Samsung washing machines are really good especially their diagnostic tools. When an error comes up on the machine it looks similar to a QR Code and our engineers can use their phones with the Samsung diagnostic software installed which can show a history of the faults and their causes just by scanning the error on the machine! Pretty cool huh? :-)
Ha ha that's crazy. I did mention that some differences in model numbers can refer to colour but then edited it out because I could see they were both white. Thanks for updating.

Your reply has prompted me to update this thread as I have since found out what the difference in the product codes means. Samsung contacted me directly since asking the question through their online support feature. The difference between the two models turned out to be different coloured doors! One being white, the other being crystal white..
