Beko Wmb 81455 Lw - Does Not Start Wash - 0417 Error Code?
Hi, Looking for some help diagnosing the issue with my washing machine!
I have a Beko WMB 81455 LW - 15 months old (just out of warranty ) which stopper working at the weekend. I can't remember any particular event that occurred that caused it to stop working. Now when I try to turn it on and put it on any washing cycle, the machine rinses the detergent chamber as usual but then never starts, it continues to fill/rinse the detergent chamber, stop and repeat. Even if putting the machine on a spin and drain cycle only, nothing happens. I therefore believe the issue is likely a motor fault..?
I have tried putting the system into test mode as described here (http://www.how-to-repair.com/help/beko-washing-machine-self-test-diagnostic-mode/) and find that it never performs any of the spin related test steps. Also when putting the system into test mode, a number flashes up on screen - 0417, I'm not sure if this is an error code, can't find any further details from google.
I have cleaned the pump filter as I have read is recommended, though to no avail. Not sure what to do next. Any help with next steps to diagnose/fix the issue would be great.
Thanks,

I don't know if that's just a generic error code but I had this tonight and couldn't find anything. After reducing the massive load my wife had put on, I got it to complete a cycle but everything was drenched after a 1200 spin. I cleaned the filter and found a colour catcher sheet wrapped around the propeller at the back. Took a while to remove it but it seems to be working fine now. A couple of quick washes and all seems well.
Good outcome Dec. This fault, where the motor does not run can have many different causes so it would be highly risky to just guess at the motor and buy and fit one for anyone with this fault.

Hiya, I was baffled by code and Beko couldn't tell me what it was either, my machine was 6 months out of warranty when this happened, I contacted Beko and they agreed to supply parts but not labour as long as I used their approved engineer. We contacted the company and when the engineer arrived to inspect machine he couldn't identify it either, firstly this machine does not have Carbon Brushes as it uses a different style motor which is known to give trouble, so as Beko was supplying parts he said he would replace the motor, the board and the door latch as these are normally the usual suspects. The parts was ordered and he came back the following week, repair done, machine like new and when I asked for the bill he said that Beko had it covered, so happy ending for me. Hope you get resolved, try Beko first, chance your arm, these motors are about 100 quid alone,
best of luck...
Hi, all of the advice I can think of is in the article I linked to on my last reply. If the drum/motor isn't turning at all it could be many things but the most common cause is worn carbon brushes.

I have the same problem and cannot find any information about the error code. I did search for the problem and the only answer was an advertisement for bearings and a seal. I think my problem is the motor as it does not turn during test mode. Any ideas?
