Beko washing machine wont start

Hi I am not sure if anyone will be able to help but I have a Beko WMD261W washing machine that has suddenly stopped working. It is quite a basic model with a turn dial system as apposed to an electronic system (hope that makes sense). the lights are coming on when I select a program but the machine wont start, the start light keeps going back to flashing. the door appears to be closing fine so I don't think its that. any help would be much appreciated.

It could be the door lock that's faulty but couldn't say it definitely is.
