My Zanussi zwg6141p is making a whirring sound when the drum is turned -especially clockwise. Is it likely to be the bearings? If so can it be repaired? Would it be wiser to buy a new machine?

I know some Zanussi machines have sealed units.

If it was bearings the noise should be the same no matter which way you turn it. Does it sound like this at all? What do noisy drum bearings sound like?
