Hi guys

I just signed up to the forum as my washing machine has stopped working. The machine is a samsung ww80k5410ux front load washer which I have had for 3 years. The issue is when I try to start a cycle the lock on the add wash door starts making a clicking sound. After about 6 clicks it starts up with the normal noise then just stops after about 10 seconds and starts flashing the red door lock key symbol. I have replaced the main door lock but it didnt help. I have taken out the motherboard to have a look and it looks as though one of the capacitors has melted the silicone cover around the circuit board but it doesnt look blown or raised. Is this normal ? I only noticed because none of the other have melted the silicone cover around them. Might be nothing to do with anything but just thought I would mention. Does anyone have any ideas ?

I would really appreciate any help .

Thanks guys

I’m afraid appliance engineers don’t repair the boards so we don’t get involved in resisters and capacitors although quite a few people on the forums do have a background in electronics.

Make sure the door latch is ok and operating the door lock properly. After that if it’s not the door lock or connection issues it only really leaves a problem with the board somewhere.
