Washing machine cycle will not start

Good morning

my Beko washing machine stopped working last week, the machine sounded like a cycle was about to start but as it got to the wash it would stop and the pause light would flash and the cycle would go no further.

i called out an engineer who diagnosed an element and brushes would need replacing. Due to the age of the machine we decided not to go ahead with the repair and instead by a new machine.

we have got this home and plugged in and it’s doing the same thing.

the one we have now is a WTB720E1W

i have no technical or repair knowledge but am guessing it might be electrical or pipe related? Any help would be greatly appreciated

thank you

Yes if the symptoms are the same on old and a new washing machine it has to be installation fault. Either not getting water, not draining water or a wall socket fault.

as it happens at the start of a cycle the main suspect is no water getting into machine. Turn off the tap and take the fill hose off and then point it into a bucket or the sink and turn tap on to check for good flow of water.
