Washing machine will not start a program
Hi, I have checked the COMMON FAULTS document and don't find my fault there.
I've had my Zanussi WDJ1294 for a long time. For a while it would sometimes not start a program when I clicked to the start point, but if i just went around the dial to the same point again, it would start - the click, then the water would start flowing in. But now it doesn't, no matter how many times I go around. The red light is on, but no click on any program. The child lock is not on.
Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated,

Hello Chris. As an engineer I can't assume that the two faults are definitely connected. It obviously sounds like something that's been playing up and has now failed completely. But you can't rule out a possibility that this second development is a completely different fault. To be fair it may well be that there has been a dodgy connection inside the timer which has now finally failed but it's an unusual fault having potentially developed from the intermittent fault you described.
