Samsung WF8690NHWA shuts down mid cycle and won't turn back on
Hello,
I Have a Samsung WF8690NHWA washing machine that was unused for about 1.5 years (total 5 years old). I recently reconnected it to try and use it again but it malfunctions with strange power shutdowns.
For example I tried to do a spin-only cycle to test it, when the spin ended but before the cycle terminates completely (1 minute remains on the screen), the machine suddenly powers down completely, without any errors or beeping. Furthermore, I can't turn it back on with the power button. The only way I can turn it back on is by unplugging it from the power outlet for ~1 minute and then reconnecting it.
This also happened when I tried a full washing cycle (with ~70 minutes remaining). But on the other hand when I tried another spin only cycle it did finish. The power shutdowns are not consistent but do happen a lot. (Edit - it just happened again not even during a cycle - it suddenly shut down while I was choosing the cycle options)
There is no burn smell, the safety plug stays on all the time (if I plug a phone charger to the same outlet it works fine).
What can be wrong with my washing machine? Is there a way I can fix it? I'd be happy to answer questions if my post is missing important info.
I went through the Troubleshooting common washing machine faults page but didn't find any article that fit this description.

Hello Yotam. It's quite amazing how often something seems to develop a fault when not in use. I've even written a full article about how to start using a washing machine that's been in storage
I would try it in a completely different wall socket just to make sure there is a problem with the wall socket. That can cause intermittent power problems that may only happen when an appliance is drawing a large amount of electricity. I had exactly that fault with my microwave that Shutting down and it turned out to be a loose neutral wire inside the wall socket.
But other than that it sounds like a problem with the electrics inside the PCB. Depending on where it has been kept there's always a possibility that it is just damp and it may write itself after a few days though that I have to admit is very much a long shot.
