Samsung auto dose.

Hi I have samsung 9kg auto dose ww90t534dan. I have downloaded and read and repeatedly referred back to manual. My question refers to why certain cycles (specifically outdoor) amongst others don't self dispense liquid, it doesn't even sense load. It only fills drum via powder drawer despite liquid compartment being filled and pushed in. Other cycles sense load and fill drum through liquid drawer. Does anyone here know of programme list that use only liquid/powder drawer. I am aware that short/quick washes are only available with certain types of detergent but these are not the cycles I'm selecting.

Hi, this is often down to how Samsung has programmed the detergent routing for particular wash options rather than a fault with the auto-dose system itself.

A few checks to narrow it down:

1. Check the programme restrictions in the manual again On many Samsung machines, Auto Dispense is not available on every programme, and some specialist cycles can override it. “Outdoor” is a likely candidate because these fabrics often require very specific detergent types and lower suds. Some machines default to the manual drawer route on those cycles.

2. Check what detergent type the machine is set for In the settings/app (if applicable), make sure the auto-dose tank is actually configured as detergent and not softener/disabled. Also check the concentration setting. If the machine thinks that compartment is assigned differently, it may ignore it on some programmes.

3. Try the same programme with options removed Turn off any added options such as prewash, intensive, bubble soak, or eco-related settings and test again. Certain option combinations can change which dispenser path is used.

4. Compare several programmes methodically Run a rinse-free test or short monitored fill on Cotton, Synthetics, Outdoor and Delicates. Note which ones trigger load sensing and which drawer path they use. If only specialist cycles bypass auto-dose, that points to normal programming.

5. Inspect the drawer and auto-dose channels If behaviour seems inconsistent even on standard cycles, clean the drawer housing and check for dried detergent or blockage in the liquid dosing section.

Before inspecting anything internal, isolate the appliance from the mains. If standard cycles also stop using auto-dose, or settings make no difference, it may need a Samsung engineer to confirm whether it’s a configuration issue or dispenser fault.

  • Never work on a live appliance

Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.

  • Never attempt gas work

By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.

  • Watch for sharp edges

Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.

  • Water appliances can leak

Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
