Hi all

Had this machine for just over 6 years and on last two cycles it’s thrown F02 and F01 and not spun. Suggests Circuit Board failure and Motor (tacho) issue?Called Indesit today as we had 10 year parts cover with the machine. Repair would be £145 labour BUT if engineer deems it “uneconomic to repair” it will be £60 for the call-out. Just looking for a view on likelihood of that happening!

We were opting instead to buy a new machine as only £85 more than repair but our model is no longer available and the variants have shortcomings in programmes it seems.

Your informed views are appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi. To be honest 6 years is fairly average for life of a modern budget washing machine these days. Many don't even last that long.

There's no way I'd pay £145 to have a 6 year old Indesit washing machine fixed.

Thanks Andy. Pipe pliers did the job with more brute force I'd expect to use on transit bolts! 👍

Can you get some pipe pliers or mawl grips on them with the bolt removed? Thinking one part of the grippers on the outside and one inside the hole. Then lever down or up.

Ok replacement Hotpoint washing machine has arrived. Has large transit bolts. These were very tight. Bolts come out but I believe the rubber stopper and a plastic insert needs to come out too. But even with the bolt still partway in they will not budge. Any suggestions please? Thanks T

Hi. You don't normally get F1 and F2 errors that fix themselves. They usually refer to a motor or pcb fault. They could be caused by an intermittent fault, or dry joint or connection problem. Or only when it's loaded up with washington when things heat up. In which case they may come back.

Hi,

Views please!…we ordered a new machine due to be delivered tomorrow. Wife ran a spin programme on the Indesit to make sure all water was out of the machine. This completed with no errors! Just running a couple more test washes to see if the fault returns.

Is it possible the F01 and F02 faults could have cleared themselves? Or been aberrations on the 2 cycles they appeared? Need to make a quick decision whether to cancel the order for the replacement!

thanks

T

10 year parts guarantee is almost an insult when they charge £145 labour.
