Indesit Evolution Error F05

Hi guys, I have a Indesit washing machine which I have owned for over four years. I am having a problem with the machine which has occurred previously. Basically, the machine will work fine until the cycle ends. Then, the error code F05 appears and I am unable to open the machine door. I have researched the error code and it is supposedly related to the pressure switch. I have emptied the filter and lots of dirty water and muck has come out. I don't want to waste money on getting an engineer in as I would rather get a new machine. I was just wondering is there anyway I could repair the machine myself?

Many Thanks

Solution Summary

AI-generated from this discussion

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Indesit Evolution showing F05 at end of cycle with door locked

The problem
The washing machine completed the wash but at the end of the cycle displayed fault code F05 and the door would not open. The filter was emptied and a lot of dirty water and debris came out.
Likely cause
The accepted reply says F05 indicates the pressure switch is reading full, but this may be because the machine is not pumping the water out rather than a failed pressure switch itself.
What fixed it
First confirm whether the machine is draining properly before investigating the pressure switch. The discussion does not document a full repair or confirm whether cleaning the filter resolved the fault.
Checks to try
  • Filter was emptied and dirty water/debris were found
  • Check whether the machine is pumping/draining the water out before considering other causes

Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

It's just saying the pressure switch is jammed on full but that could be because the water isn't pumping out of the machine.Make sure the water is being pumped out before looking at other causes -
