Solution Summary

AI-generated from this discussion

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Indesit WIB111 stopped mid-cycle and then had no power

The problem
An Indesit WIB111 washing machine was stopped mid-cycle to add washing. The on/off LED flashed rapidly and then stopped. After that the machine appeared to have no power, would not start again, and had not drained the water. The plug fuse and wall socket were reported as checked and OK.
Likely cause
The discussion does not confirm a specific failed part. The strongest supported diagnosis is that the machine remained full of water and would need manual draining before any further assessment. If it still would not start after draining, a fault requiring engineer diagnosis was advised.
What fixed it
Recommended action was to manually drain the washing machine first. If it still would not start afterwards, further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer. No exact repair was confirmed in the thread.
Checks to try
  • Plug fuse checked and reported OK
  • Wall socket checked and reported OK
  • Machine had not drained the water
  • On/off LED flashed rapidly before power loss

Safety: Do not bypass any safety device. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Try manually draining the washing machine as per the instructions here - The water won't drain out of the washing machine - If it still won't start you'll need an engineer.
