Can anyone advise me on replaceing the Drum Bearings on a Zanussi ZWD16581W. I have mangaed to get the Tub out, however it looks like the 2 sections have been glued together so ther is no way of seperating them. Does this mean that the bearings cannot be replaced?

Thanks

Many tubs are in two halves and clipped together with strong metal clips or screwed together. There's a nasty new trend of completely sealed tubs rendering all parts within unrepairable but according to 4washerhelp spares database your model has a new front half of the tub available as a spare part as well as the drum bearing kit so it should be able to be split apart. But if it's welded together it looks like it can't.

Sorry for the delay in replying. It seems a welded tub might have been fitted, which is almost certainly not worth repairing. Depending on how old it is you may have a claim against the retailer under the sale of goods act if it hasn't lasted a reasonable time.

Thanks for the reply.

That's what's confused me, as you say the bearing kit and front are available but this is completely sealed with no screws. Also I can't actually find a part number for a complete new tub so either this is completely unrepairable or I'm missing something. I was hopeing that it was just me missing something. Do you know if there is any way to break the seal?
