F4 Error On Display, Booklet States Pressure Switch Fault?
Hi
I have a hotpoint washing machine that turns on o.k. and starts to fill with water, you can see the water once its reached the glass window start to drain but the water "input" continues and never seems to stop? even at the end of cycle when the timer reaches 0 time, the machine continues to rotate and carry on filling without stopping and pumping out intermitentley.I have removed the sump filter and pressure chamber and rubber pipe leading to the pressure switch and cleaned what dirt was in there! I have also taken my u bend out from under sink and checked for any blockages within the pipes as well as the drainage pipe! All have been clear? Can anyone help please!
Thanks Dizz.

The technical advice for a Hotpoint washing machine displaying the error code F04, is that the pressure switch is stuck on empty, and to check the pressure switch, wiring and module connections.
When the washing machine fills with water it forces air up the pressure tube connected to the pressure switch. When the right amount of water has been taken it this will create enough air pressure in the tube to switch the pressure switch on. This tells the washer to stop filling.
Error F04 is saying that the washing machine is not getting the the message that the pressure switch has switched over. This could be because the pressure switch has indeed stuck, or it's switched over but a connection fault has stopped the signal reaching the main PCB or the pressure chamber or tubing is blocked with gunge preventing the air pressure from activating the pressure switch.
