Bosch Classixx 6 Not Doing Anything
We have a Bosch Classixx 6 and it has a problem. We can set the dial for the programme, select the spin, and press the start button ----- and nothing.
We turn it off from the machine and wall, try again, same response.
We open and close the door - same again.
After a few attempts, it finally starts, and continues without further issue.
Can anybody give me an idea of what to check before having to call out an engineer??
Thanks
Dave

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.
Bosch Classixx 6 intermittently not starting
- The problem
- A Bosch Classixx 6 washing machine would allow programme and spin selection, but pressing Start often did nothing. Switching off at the machine and wall, then retrying, did not immediately help. After several attempts it would eventually start and then complete the wash without further problems.
- Likely cause
- The strongest diagnosis in the discussion was an intermittent faulty door interlock. The accepted reply reasoned that a simple loose connection was less likely because the machine did not stop once running, even during spin.
- What fixed it
- Recommended checks were to ensure the door closes properly and that the door catch is not broken. The accepted reply suggested a little WD40 into the interlock from the front as a simple attempt, but advised that otherwise the machine would need an engineer to fault-find it. Replacing the interlock was mentioned as a possibility, but not as a confirmed fix.
- Checks to try
- Turned the machine off at the machine and wall and retried
- Opened and closed the door
- Check that the door is closing properly
- Check for damage to the door catch
- Parts or tools mentioned
- Door interlock
- WD40
Safety: Do not bypass the door interlock. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

You'd expect if it was a simple poor connection somewhere then it would keep stopping once running, especially when shaking about on spin. Therefore it may be something more like a faulty door interlock. When the washer is turned on and a programme selected a small bi-metal strip inside the door interlock has to heat up. It only takes a second or so but when heated up it bends and makes a connection inside as well as locking the door shut.A fault on the interlock could prevent it from making a proper connection. I'd make sure the door's closing properly and there's nothing broken on the door catch (and maybe spray a bit of WD40 into the interlock from the front) but other than that it needs an engineer to fault find it. You could try replacing the interlock but there's no guarantee it is that.
