Should We Buy Samsung Washing Machine?
We all buy Samsung because it is a "good brand" and products seems to last longer regardless the cost. And supposedly if ever something happens to products while still in the warranty period, Samsung will fix it or replace it.
Unfortunately this is not what happens when you find yourself in this situation, the customer service department is not very helpful.
I got a washing machine in 2011 with comet, unfortunately comet close down, but now the washing machine stops working, call Samsung to get sorted, someone from DOMEX came down to have a look at the machine, without opening to check the inside suddenly conclude that it was due to the installation,"sth behind the machine was supposed to be removed before the system been installed"
my questions are:
1-"something may be the cause of something" AND "something 's the cause of something " are 2 different expressions
2- is Samsung making washing machine to last longer or to break quickly for customer to come claim the warranty ??
3- why Samsung is not improving their washing machine design in the way that it is easy to transport and do not need any shipping bolts to be removed before installation? like battery in some system will not allow the battery to be inserted in the wrong way?
4- why Samsung do not have a clear sign of warning for this shipping bolts to be removed before installation ?
I have received a phone call from DOMEX the company that carry the repairs for Samsung, they are ready to charge about £ 220 including labor to get my washing machine fixed when the new machine cost £250 , pathetic
ps: I have a very bad experience with SAMSUNG , I will not buy any SAMSUNG products again

I personally don't understand why Samsung, and the other brown goods manufacturers wanted to make white goods as well, which are completely different products. They have a great reputation for brown goods but in the uK at least they have a poor reputation for after-sales service and there's anecdotal evidence (like yours) that people find it harder to get them repaired and to get spares for, plus engineers report difficulties in getting spares and technical information.
Washing machines in particular are highly subject to breakdowns and are completely unreliable when compared with a PVR or TV. It seems all these famous brown goods manufacturer's white goods are not renowned for being reliable like their other products and this is damaging their entire reputation in the UK.

Id have expected it too have broken a lot quicker if that was the case though.

This is an old thread, and to be honest I don't understand my own reply to the question. It looks like I didn't really read it properly. Yes I agree, if transit bolts have not been removed this as an installation fault and not covered by any warranty. There is usually a sticker or label stuck to the packaging advising that transit packaging needs to be removed. It is also clearly spelt out in the instruction books. However, bizarrely the installation section in instruction books is often at the back whereas it should be the very first thing a customer reads.
Sadly many people just do not read instruction books but at the end of the day there is no comeback if something is in an instruction book and not taken notice of.

I actually came here looking to buy some transport bolts to move my samsung washer! This was one of the top threads on Google and the only one actually talking about the bolts and I just thought id post a reply to what seemed like a problem people should be aware of whilst i was here.

You made a good point and as I say I don't know why I didn't respond better other than I must've been very busy at the time. Personally I hate it when I find old threads that have been closed when I have some very relevant information to add.
