Makes A Rattling Sort Of Noise When It's Emptying And Pumping
Hi, I have had a washing machine given to me Hotpoint Aquarius WF250, and it washes and spins great, but makes a rattling sort of noise when it's emptying and pumping, I got flexible hose off and found 20p inside, but it wasn't that. Any ideas please? Thank you

Sounds like something could be stuck inside the actual pump or the pump is faulty. If the noise is coming from the pump it needs taking off and investigating. How to check the pump filter

The reason I asked, is because I'm out of work, I've had a few quotes, and can't really afford them, but can't afford a new washer either. Thank you for your help, think I might have to give it a try myself
I would have thought so as long as you are that way inclined. If you've never fiddled about trying to fix something before and don't have tools I wouldn't bother, but I'd say that to men or women. I know of women engineers and diy women who strip washers to pieces and fit new bearings It's just about having the inclination and right attitude. My opinion regarding diy washing machine repairs is, man or woman, if you don't have a clue about what to do it's best to get someone in but if you are capable of working things out and how to get things off etc it's ok to look at them if it isn't too involved.

I'm a woman ( haha) could I do this myself and have a look?
A pump just has 2 wires, 2 bolts holding it on and 2 hoses connected.

Can this be done easily?
