Zanussi Zwg1120M
Hi was wondering if anyone can help me,I've got a zanussi zwg1120m washing machine. It blew a fuse in the plug and when I replaced that it brought up a error code e30 which the manual says is a door fault but all seems nice and tight there. Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advance.

If the E30 error only occurred directly after the fuse blew it could theoretically have damaged the door lock inside. If the door catch and mechanism is Ok the door lock may need replacing. However, unless by any chance it was the door lock which caused the fusing in the first place it's important to trace what caused the fuse to blow. If it is an earth insulation leak or a fault on another part it could do exactly the same thing with a new door lock fitted. It may be better to get it checked out with a proper insulation test meter - Washing Machine Fusing Electrics

Black soot is normal around certain components on a pcb which get hot. If it wipes away and everything looks ok it probably is. If something looks burnt that's more of a concern. Most pcb faults are not visible. If something blew the fuse and now the door lock is faulty either the door lock itself blew the fuse in which case replacing it may well fix the machine or something else (eg. a motor) blew the fuse and the door lock. Without a proper insulation test meter though it can't be tested.

thanks for the quick answer I had another look at the machine and the pcb seemed a little sooty around a couple of places so have scrapped it ,thanks again.
