Indesit Wil153 Drum Damaged Mid-Wash

Hello,

Just wanted to ask for some advice here.

I have an Indesit WIL153 washing machine that I've had now for so many years now I can't remember.

Anyway, I put a load of clothes in as I normally do and started the wash and towards the end of the cycle, there was a loud crunching noise, so I rushed out to have a look and noticed that the drum had stopped moving and if it did, it sort of gave off a grinding noise. I immediately stopped the cycle and pulled out the clothes and checked the inside of the drum.

I noticed that the drum had been damaged quite badly. I'll add some photos to show the damage I'm talking about.

Now, to me, it doesn't look like it can be repaired, so I'm thinking that the only thing I can do is get a new one.

But I thought I'd come and ask here first before I take that route.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rory

Hi, looks like what happens when a £1 coin or similar gets inside. It will be very expensive to fix and if you've had it a long time it's not worth trying to sort this out. I can't even find a new drum listed, the outer tub is listed as obsolete.
