Indesit 6125

Hi,

I hope someone can help, I have an Indesit 6125 that will not empty the water, I have had to empty the water by tilting the machine back and taking the inspection panel off, the pump was not blocked at all. I removed the pump and checked it out with a meter which was ok, I also put a 240v supply on the pump and it ran very well with no noise or vibration.

I can only assume that the machine is not sending power down to the water pump.

After emptying the machine I tried to run it through another wash cycle which it does ok until it has to empty the water and then the same problem comes up - all the lights flash and the machine stops. Any ideas would be welcome as I have two young kids and the washing is piling up.

Many thanks

The pump could be getting power but it also needs a neutral return too or it won't run. If the pump definitely doesn't run (on spin for example) then as you have shown the pump will run with an external live and neutral connection it seems a fair bet that it's a lack of power or connection wiring fault somewhere.

It's also possible for a pump to run, have no visible blockages, but still not empty as described here Can’t Find a Blockage But Washing Machine Still Not Draining although this article is only relevant if you can hear or see that the pump is running.

It could be, but ideally the continuity of both the wires to the pump should be checked with a meter right back to the pcb because an invisible break inside one of the wires could stop the pump running. Breaks like that can happen, (and even hidden cuts to wires) especially where wires are routed through places where they can rub or pull during spin when the tub bounces around.

Hi

thank you for the reply, I have checked and the pump is not running when it should, I have checked and I cannot get any supply from the pcb, do you think it is a pcb problem or could it be something else.

I am now thinking that I need to buy another machine as I cannot send my little monkeys to school in dirty clothes - can any one recommend a good washer dryer, I think I have had it with Indesit now - this was my third machine and they might be cheap but they do not seem to last.

Do we make any in this country anymore?
