Bosch Classixx - Tripping Fault
I've got a Bosch Classixx machine (possibly 10 years old) that is sparking and tripping the fuse box whenever it is turned on. I have been trying to isolate the faulty component and have found that the machine doesn't trip when the front cable harness attached the main programme dial is disconnected. The disconnected wires connect the door interlock and the water valves at the back of the machine. I'm getting a resistance reading from the door interlock though nothing from the valves. However, if I reconnect the aforemention wiring harness while the valves are unplugged,, the machine trips once again.
When tripping, a spark appears to come from the motor and the motor powers up before dying.
Any ideas?
Thank you so much,
Tom

Hi Tom, read my article which contains help on this problem although there are so many things that could cause a washing machine to fuse or trip the electrics there's only so much advice that can be given. It's very unlikely to be caused by water valves, door interlocks can trip the electrics but the most common causes are other components including the motor and if a spark comes from the motor it has to be the main suspect. The trouble with disconnecting a connector is unless it's a specific one (try just unplugging the motor) you don;t really know exactly what wires and components have been taken out of the circuit without a wiring diagram.
