Wdd960 F13 Fault
Hi guys,
I have been having the F13 fault that seems to appear on these machines. I followed the link in http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/forums/topic/1136-hotpoint-wdd960-f13-error-code/?hl=wdd960 and ordered the thermistor.
However when i attempted to fit the new part today i came across a problem, the new part looks nothing like the part fitted to my machine ( providing im looking at the right thing)
Can anyone help me out and tell me what to do next as i would really like to get this fixed. Also im struggling to get the top of the silver housing back on..

Hotpoint WDD960 F13 fault: replacement thermistor ordered after wrong type supplied
- The problem
- A Hotpoint WDD960 washing machine showed fault code F13. The owner ordered a thermistor based on earlier advice, but when attempting to fit it found the new part did not match the component fitted in the machine.
- Likely cause
- The strongest supported explanation is that the incorrect thermistor variant was ordered. The accepted reply says this model can use a different-looking version, and that some production runs may have used one type while later machines used another.
- What fixed it
- The accepted advice was to obtain the alternative thermistor listed further down for the WDD960 model, and return the unopened incorrect part if possible. The owner then confirmed that the new part had been ordered. The discussion does not confirm fitting or successful repair.
- Checks to try
- Compared the replacement thermistor with the part fitted in the machine
- Identified that the supplied thermistor looked different from the original fitted part
- Parts or tools mentioned
- Thermistor

Although that pat is listed as fitting your model this one looks like the one you need which is listed a few pages down on the list when searching for the model number - Ransom Spares
If you've not opened the new one you should be able to return it for a refund (minus return postage). If there is a device like the one you've got on the machine then they use two and you got the wrong one but if not, they may have used both types during production and changed from one to the other leaving some models with one fitted and later models with a different one.
The latter is very common, and one of the pitfalls of trying to buy the right part which even engineers in the trade fall foul of - Buying spares – 5 things you need to know
