Problem With The Emergency Drain Hose On My New Lgf12B8Qda 7Kg Washing Machine
I recently bought a new LG washing machine (model above) & was working fine for the first few washes. The washes were clean & dry & was running very quietly.
However, shortly after & mid-wash, I got an error message OE saying there was a problem with the drain.
I searched the Internet & found the drain hose & filter inside the lower cover cap. I manually drained the water from the emergency drain hose into a suitable vessel & took the drain pump filter off & cleaned it.
However, when I went to re-attach the hose & put the drain plug back in, the hose fell back into the hole & I'm not able to get it back, probably without removing the lower cover (it's not clear in the manual).
Will this cause me any problems that the emergency hose doesn't have the drain plug fitted in it? If so, how can I easily get the drain hose back so I can re-fit the drain plug.
Any help would be appreciated, as I can't see anything in the manual to help me & had a look at the rest of the forums without any luck.
Thanks & rgds

Hello Daniel. If there is a small emergency drain hose behind the pump filter cover then the end of that drain hose must either push onto a plastic nozzle or it must have own bung plug. Otherwise water entering the washing machine will just run straight out of this hose. The pump does not have to be running for this hose to let water run straight through. That is its job. If the bung has been lost inside the washing machine it will possibly jam the pump but more importantly you cannot use the machine unless that hose is plugged.

It sounds like you need to look underneath the washing machine, or look at it from the back with the back panel off. To fit a pump I would always lay the washing machine down on its front and work at it from the back but I am talking about UK frontloading washing machines.

I have the small plastic bung drain plug with me now, as I had to drain the pump manually & remove the drain plug. However, when I went to try & attach the pump back & put the drain plug back on, the drain hose fell through the hole of the lower cover cap & I can't get the pump back. Do I have to remove the lower cover or can I don something else? I understand from your reply that I DO need the drain plug back fixed as I can't use the machine otherwise. I can't see any screws or anything in the manual about what I need to do next.
Thanks
