Indesit Iwme126 Drum Tub Sealed?
Hi. I have an Indesit IWME126 washing machine which has developed a problem which is probably due to a broken spider (or possibly bearings). I need to decide whether repair or a replacement machine is the best course of action. Could anyone please tell me if the drum tub is sealed (requiring replacement of the entire tub) or whether this can be opened up to replace the spider. It is a big job to remove the drum tub and not something I want to start only to discover I can't open the tub to complete the repair. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The best way is to check to see if you can buy the spare parts. If you click on my Buy appliance parts ad on most pages here you can check. I had a quick look but didn't cycle through all the pages but the drum appears to be sold as a complete tub and drum at a price no one in their right mind would buy (which I honestly think are the manufacturer's intentions). Here's page 5 on the list of spare parts list for Indesit IWME126 washing machines

Yes, my theory is that it gets them out of having to keep spare parts for years after they stop making an appliance. By only making them available as a complete unit and making them so expensive that no one would be daft enough to buy one they can save hundreds of thousands of pounds in stocking drums, spiders, seals, bearings etc for all their past models.

Many thanks for the link. Yes as I thought, it appears it is a sealed tub and only available as a complete part for around £200. Couldn't agree more about this being the manufacturer's intentions, I will take care when choosing a replacement. I appreciate your swift and helpful reply, and thanks for a highly useful website.
