I need a shallow Washing Machine

Hello to you all, new to the forum!

Working on layout of my new kitchen and as in many kitchens the washing machine is one of the tricky bits. Not many places it can go and the slot in question happens to have a section of wall that protrudes, further restricting the depth available. My installer and I have worked out we can just about wing it but might have to shave a tad into the doorframe to allow for the worktop overhang and for it all to work - not ideal but it is a small galley shaped 2bed flat kitchen and some compromises have to be made.

So, long and short is when it comes to the appliance, any millimeter I can save will make a difference i.e. possibly getting away without getting into the door frame (!) meaning I need to find an integrated washing machine with the smallest depth possible for the right capacity. Looking for integrated model, happy with anything between 6 & 7kg (oddly there doesn't appear to be much difference in size/depth between the 6 and 7kg models but maybe you know otherwise!), good energy rating and ideally budget not exceeding £400 but negotiable. Basically seeking for overall depth of or as near as possible to 53cm, do you know if certain models/brands are known for being a slimmer depth?

Unfortunately washing machine sizes are all very similar and trying to find ones that are different sizes is a very difficult job. Basically they all have the same drum sizes and you can't shave much off the width height or depth. It's like all 42 inch TVs are likely to be very similar sizes because that's just physics. The universal space required for appliances is 60 cm x 60 cms and that's the size appliances are built for.

In the past there have been various "slim" washing machines but they've never lasted long and they all had very small drums which is the only way it can be done. More details here Washing machines and associated problems with sizes
