Indesit WDC6125 S UK trips electrics mid-cycle; motor circuit implicated but not confirmed
- The problem
- An Indesit WDC6125 S UK washer dryer blew the electrics part way through a cycle. The owner disconnected components one by one and found the machine would run its cycle functions such as the pump once the motor was disconnected, but the motor would not operate.
- Likely cause
- A fault on the motor circuit is implicated because the machine stopped tripping when the motor was disconnected. However, the discussion does not confirm that the motor itself is definitely faulty.
- What fixed it
- The accepted advice was that this type of tripping fault requires diagnosis with a proper insulation test meter to identify the faulty component and confirm the machine is safe. The exact repair was not confirmed.
- Checks to try
- Machine blew the electrics mid-cycle
- Components were disconnected individually during testing
- With the motor disconnected, the machine cycled again and the pump operated
- Parts or tools mentioned
- Insulation test meter
Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.
