Hi, a quick question that is probably obvious.

ive just brought a second hand Bosch machine and the hot hose connector is poor and leaking.

it only has a rubber sleive rather than a proper connector.

2 questions:

1. if I was to buy a new hot hose how do I remove the old one (see pic)

2. If and can I change the end on the existing if q1. Is not possible (other than by a plumber)

thank you and apologies for my novice questions - appreciate any help.

Hello Marc. The top picture looks like a drain hose, and the second picture also looks like a drain hose that it is connected to a hot water tap. Fill hoses are normally attached to a water valve out of the back of the washing machine and screwed on. The water valves on a washing machine are always on the right-hand side when looking at it from the back. The only time I've ever seen fill hoses connected directly onto pipework is in the 70s.

Thanks for clarification Marc. I was going to say that virtually all washing machines are cold fill only now so it should just need connecting up to a cold water supply. You need to have a proper tap with the screw thread so that the straight end of the fill hose can screw onto it. The drain hose needs to go into a stand pipe leading out to a drain or connecting to the u-bend under the sink as most are these days.

Figured it out, cold fill only.

Hi Andy,

I feel a little silly now. Yes the 2 pics are of the same hose.

So where does the drain hose go?

I've just seen there is the word 'Hot' underneath the cold hose.

Do I just need to remove the hot plastic cover and buy a hot hose pipe?

thanks again!
