Just after some advice please. Ive moved to a new house and I have a built in washing machine. I bought my WDAL8640 Hotpoint Washer Dryer with me and was planning to use this just as a tumble dryer. It seems not work though as the drum will not turn or heat. Ive been told this is because it is not connected to a water inlet and I dont have a spare one I could access and I was wondering if someone could confirm if I definitely need a water inlet for just the dryer function only to work and if so if there was anyway I could override this function? Few years back I had another Hotpoint Washer dryer and used this the same way as Im hoping to now and it was working fine without a connection to a water supply.

Hello. Yes a washer dryer needs cold water to condense the steam into water and pump it down the drain. It needs to be connected to cold water and the plumbing for waste water.
