Candy GVW158TC3W Washer Dryer

I am wondering how I can do just a conditioner rinse. I tried the Rapid 30 min program and none of the conditioner was taken from the middle draw compartment. I have also run the rinse cycle and the conditioner is also still there. What programs use the conditioner function and what is the shortest cycle I can do because I only want to refresh swimming trunks etc that don't need cleaning. Thanks.

AI-generated from this discussion

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Candy GVW158TC3W fabric conditioner not being dispensed on multiple cycles

The problem
On a new Candy GVW158TC3W washer dryer, fabric conditioner remained in the middle drawer compartment after trying the Rapid 30 minute programme, a rinse cycle, and other cycles. The user wanted to know which programmes take conditioner and the shortest cycle suitable for a refresh wash.
Likely cause
The discussion supports a diagnosis that the machine was not taking in fabric conditioner correctly. One reply said conditioner should normally be taken on the rinse cycle, but no specific confirmed cause for this machine was established.
What fixed it
The advice given was to consult the instruction book to see which programmes should dispense fabric conditioner and to follow general fault-finding for fabric softener not being taken out. As the appliance was brand new and no repair was confirmed, further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.
Checks to try
  • Tried Rapid 30 minute programme and conditioner remained in the drawer
  • Tried rinse cycle and conditioner remained in the drawer
  • Original poster later stated three different cycles had been tried and conditioner remained each time

As far as I'm aware all washing machines should take in fabric conditioner on the rinse cycle, ours certainly does. Does it definitely take fabric conditioner out OK on a normal wash cycle but not on a separate rinse cycle? If so it must be designed that way. The instruction book should hopefully show which wash cycles take in fabric conditioner but I think they all should really. If it stops taking it out altogether this article explains reasons why fabric Softener not being taken out

Thanks for the reply. It is a brand new machine and I have tried 3 different cycles and the conditioner has remained there after each one?

Hi. You need to check out the link I put in my last reply which covers that fault. It's an very unusual fault for a brand new machine though.
