Indesit xwa81682xwuk 1600rpm Gets stuck on heavy items
Had this machine since mid 2015, Indesit 1600 rpm 9kg machine, worked fine until washer stopped working two weeks ago with all lights flickering and wouldn't drain out, I unblocked some fluff from drain hose at bottom of machine and turned back on, it worked for four days and then got stuck on the rinse and spin cycle, kept filling up and then draining all the time and wouldn't spin fast, so had to power off and put on spin and drain, it then worked on small loads only but then got stuck on a towel wash.I looked at trouble shooting guide and it suggested it could be a problem with the drain pipe, I have had these in various positions as suggested and believe it can't be a problem with this pipe, I've also made sure the machine is correctly balanced as best I can, as I have mentioned it keeps getting stuck on heavy loads on the rinse and spin cycle and when this happens it doesn't take the fabric conditioner from draw too, any help is much appreciated, rgds

Hi Andy, thanks for your reply, I understand what your talking about but it seems to get stuck on a cycle, and fill up for a while, pause and then try to spin but can't and then drain out for a while separately, eventually we have to power off the machine, it seems to get suck on heavier loads and is ok on light ones, and seems to work for a few days then gets stuck again, I'm not sure if it's a problem with it detecting an out of balance load if that's possible, but regarding the drain hose I've had it in numerous positions and it doesn't seem to help it, thanks again, Steve
If when the water drains out you can hear the drain pump (not circulation pump) running that's one fault. It can be caused (as the article I linked to described) by a faulty sensor thinking it's overheating or actual overheating. However it should drain and fill at the same time or drain a bit, fill a bit, drain a bit, fill a bit etc trying to cool the "boiling water" down. If water drains out and the drain pump is not running it must be siphoning.
Having said all that, if it fills with water, then tries to turn the drum and can't, and then pumps out all the water in one go and stops that's a different issue altogether. If that happens the machine has detected a fault and aborted the cycle. It should normally indicate some error code. If it doesn't directly display error codes they usually use option lights or flashing lights.

Hi , thanks again for the advice, I think maybe it's aborting the cycle like you say and detecting a fault, all the lights on the machine flash, and there is no error code display screen on the machine, just flashing lights, it has been running again for the last six days doing several washes each day, so I'm still confused what the problem is, the machine is 21 months old and the price I payed I don't think it's worth paying for a service engineer to look at it, thanks again anyway.
When all lights are flashing it's not usually a good sign. It's not something they are supposed to do. They are supposed to indicate proper error codes by flashing or lighting specific lights or displaying in a proper display. When all lights flash it's a sign something it can't cope with is happening. Possibly related to connections or components in the pcb's.
