Bosch Exxcel 8 fails to rinse & spin
I have a Bosch Exxcel 8.
If I use the "Mixed Wash" program the machine appears to wash the clothes satisfactorily but not to rinse or spin them before finishing. As a result I have to choose to rinse and spin them on a separate program.
Any suggestions as to what may be wrong and what I can do about it?
Many thanks.

If it washes but then seems to end the Mixed Wash programme without properly rinsing or spinning, the most likely causes are a draining problem, a load-detection issue, or a programme-specific fault rather than a basic motor fault.
1. Check for a drain issue If the washer cannot empty fully, it will often refuse to spin. Listen at the rinse/spin stage for the drain pump running. Also check whether water is left in the drum at the end. Clean the pump filter and inspect the drain hose for kinks or partial blockage. A partially blocked pump can still drain “a bit” but not well enough for the programme to continue properly.
2. Try other programmes Run a Cotton or Easy Care wash and see if it rinses/spins normally. If the fault only happens on Mixed Wash, that points more towards a control/programme issue or a sensor input affecting that cycle.
3. Check load size and balance Bosch machines can skip or limit spin if the load is too small, too heavy, or tangled. Try a medium-sized load of mixed items, avoiding single heavy towels or one large item.
4. Check spin and rinse options Make sure Reduced Spin, Rinse Hold, or similar options have not been selected by mistake. Sometimes a setting can be stored or accidentally applied to one programme.
5. Consider pressure system issues If the pressure chamber or pressure switch hose is partially blocked, the machine may misread the water level and fail to move correctly into rinse/spin.
Isolate the appliance from the mains before inspecting any internal parts. If the filter and hose checks make no difference, I’d then suspect a pressure system fault, drain pump weakness, or control board/programme fault, and a qualified engineer would be best for further diagnosis.

Safety first — read before actioning advice
Never work on a live appliance
Always unplug it at the mains before going near it with any tools.
Never attempt gas work
By law, gas appliances must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your fault involves gas, stop and call a professional — do not attempt it yourself.
Watch for sharp edges
Outer panels are smooth, but internal parts are full of sharp machined edges. Wear protective gloves and arm sleeves.
Water appliances can leak
Turn off the water supply before disconnecting any hoses.
Know your limits
If you're not confident testing or working inside the appliance, STOP and call a professional.
