Beko leaking from a small tube at top of washer

It’s connected to the waste pipe. Maybe an overflow?? But waste isn’t blocked but water is gushing out this little hose.

There is often a small hose with a bung in it or connected to a dead end bung which is used to drain the washing machine if it gets stuck full of water but this hose would be at the bottom of the washing machine right next to the pump. I honestly can't think of any reason why there would be 2nd hose attached to the drain hose. Only water that needs pumping out down the drain should go into the drain hose, so it would be crazy to attach a hose to it so that water could flood onto the floor. Likewise it wouldn't make any sense to have a 2nd hose attached to the drain hose but with a bung fitted to it. As I said the only hose with a bung but I can think of would be to allow to drain out the water if it got stuck full of water but this hose would not drain if it was at the top of the machine. Sorry I can't be any more help at the moment but it doesn't make any sense to me for now.

A friends Beko washer had the same problem as Louise's washer . This small tube is connected to the plastic elbow where the waste pipe exits the machine at the top back right . It looks like it has something fitted to it as the pipe end has been widened . I have blanked off this pipe and the machine works fine . It just bugs me what this pipe is for and i have been looking on the internet all day without success until read Louise's post . Like Andy said cant be an emergency drain because it is at the top of the machine .

Have you a photo of it? Could it be a breather pipe to let steam out or air in?

Same problem with BEKO small black pipe, and BEKO cannot advise what this small black pipe is for, which I find totally unbelievable, as there must be some kind of specification that the manufacturers work to when building these machines.

Just wondered if anyone had an update regarding this pipe, as we have a machine that may have been leaking for two years, only highlighted by the fact that the skirting board is pulling away from an internal wall in the location of the washing machine.

Also had the same problem with my beko washing machine with water leaking out of this black hose that connects to the drain pipe housing at the top of the machine. The black hose just needs to be pushed back onto the nipple on the back of the drum.

Hi, Firstly, may I say I realise this is a rather old thread.

But since I have only just discovered a problem with the little black rubber hose that is connected to waste pipe junction toward top of Beko Washing machine where waste pipe exits washer, perhaps this may help others.

Background. Periodically we noticed water on tiled floor during/after washing large loads and occasionally loads were not successfully spun. This occurred earlier today, Water all over floor and a soggy load of washing. However, on this occasion as my wife was discovering this there was a loud crack/bang and electrics tripped out.

That's when I get involved. I Isolated power to machine then drained drum from filter housing. Wife found bent hair grip amongst debris.

I thought that this may have simply obstructed pump impeller so congratulated myself, (albeit prematurely), that this must have caused failed spin/drain function. But before going any further my wife suggested we drag machine out and clean water from below it. Once that clean up was completed and as machine was already out, I decided to inspect inside back of machine. Only 5 screws to remove inspection plate. Glad I did as I then discovered water splashes all over electric including drive motor and junction/control box cleverly (not) situated low down below waste pipe exit point.

Now this is where I also discovered the "small black hose" its about 10mm diameter (externally) and I too thought may be some sort of over flow so rather than leave it hanging above electrics was going to feed it to outside of casing. But when I looked closer I found the widening effect at the loose end of hose also. Closer inspection of the back of the plastic outer drum there is a spigot within reach of the rubber hose. It's my belief that this is where the rubber hose should reside. My theory is that in the event of a waste pipe blockage the waste water can recycle around into the drum and not leak onto electrics etc. Owners will know there is a problem as the washing won't be dry and investigate.

In my case I think that pump was operating erratically so sudden gushes of waste water leaked from the open end of the rubber hose and has now I think caused the motor or control of the motor to fail requiring service engineer. Oh I do wish I'd purchased extended warranty.

this has happened to me. The repair man replaced the control board and everything was fine until we realised this hose had come loose. He managed to clean and dry everything around the electrics and it came on and worked okay. The only thing it doesn't seem to want to do is be cancelled in the middle of a wash.

Might be worth a thorough dry out before replacing the board is all I'm saying, the board including investigation and fitting costs were £138

Hi and thanks for info. Particularly the repair cost.

I did try drying out things but never got motor to run despite inlet valves and pump functioning okay. Decided fairly quickly that a repair was likely to cost upwards of £100 and bottled it and purchased a new albeit £300 Hotpoint as the Beko had been the second we'd had with drum drive issues and this one was just under two years old. I admit that perhaps if the little tube had stayed where intended the washer may have given faultless performance for many more years but I'll never know for sure but needed a quick resolution as holiday plans we set so didn't want to be waiting on engineers fitting this then ordering that and waiting for parts etc. as well as the inconvenience of time waiting for it to work.

Felt awful paying someone to take away what was otherwise a good washer but there's no way I'm going down to the river to bash my clothes on rocks to get them clean. We needed a washer fast and that's probably cost twice the cost of a repair but that's life.

Now I shall wait and see how our be Hotpoint serves us.....

Just had the same problem with the small black pipe by the waste outlet bend.

.Seem to work fine now with no leaks
