I have already read this and tried to reduce the water pressure. I could reduce more but am confused as to why I am getting clumps of detergent left which would appear to be an issue caused from not having enough water pressure??

The leak is coming out of the top back of the detergent drawer housing (where it clips together I have taken this apart to give it a good clean etc and thought that this should poss have some sort of gasket but there is no evidence of that?

I removed the plastic tray for liquid to see if that helped but there was still some clumping and also the leak (all with the water supply turned down a bit) see second pic.

so an update. I have reduced the water pressure to really low and indeed the leak does appear to have stopped. As I say I am getting clumping. I have taken out the flap to to the liquid compartment which is in the way of water jets and this has helped (although still a little clumping) but now the liquid compartment is left full of water at the end of cycle?

The problem with reducing the water pressure is that it isn't now good enough to flush the detergent down properly. So unless you are willing to pour a kettle of water in at the beginning of each wash to flush it down, which obviously would be a hell of a pain, then it's just solving one problem and causing another. If you don't want to choose the lesser of two evils you may need to replace the whole of the soap dispenser.

If you haven't already, carefully remove the filter in the water valve and make sure it is clean. Be careful though they are very brittle and very delicate.

Also try to make sure that the water pressure running through the fill hose is nice and strong. Sometimes you can get problems with taps and the plumbing that cause a restriction in water pressure. Take the hose off and point it into a bucket and turn the tap on to make sure you have a good flow. Sometimes a restricted flow can cause problems as it doesn't come in cleanly and can splay out and sometimes find places to leap from that it wouldn't normally do if it was coming in at a good pressure. So ironically sometimes a leak in a soap dispenser drawer can be caused by the water pressure being too high as well as being too low. So I have now taken out and cleaned the filter in the water valve. It did have a load of little bits in (see pic) but I still wouldn't have thought it would make that much difference? I also ran air compressor through the top of housing to make sure no jets where blocked (pic to show it is really pretty clean).

I have checked the supply hose into a bucket and I would say it feels high enough pressure to me.

I have run a load (no other water being used in house to be sure) and have the leak still (see pic).

I notice that it only leaked on filling later on in the cycle I'd guess in the rinse stage but didn't look at the front to check this.

I'm guessing it is a case of replacing the housing?

Another update.

I did another wash this morning and no leaking! the only difference was that I took out the little shelf for liquid.

This does at least mean that I had no clumps as the clumping is always under the little shelf and so the water jets are unable to wash away properly. but I do end up with the liquid drawer full of water (I can't quite see how this is meant to drain away anyway as there are no holes at the bottom etc?)

An intermittent leak!!! how can this be???

Hi there. Thanks for the updates. I would speculate that maybe the water that leaked out was splashing over the top of this cover and removing it prevented that? When it is filling up with water if you carefully take out the drawer can you see if the water is going nicely into the soap drawer or is some of the jets splaying out at awkward angles that cause it to ingress to places it is not supposed to? To do this I would recommend having a towel ready and pushed up to the bottom of the dispenser and be prepared for a bit of water to maybe splash out. It might be messy but it is important to observe how the water is going into the soap dispenser with the drawer removed.

Thank you so much for all your help with this.

So I put a load on yesterday exactly the same conditions and again no leak.

I then put a load on this morning and it started to leak again. I then pulled the drawer out and videoed it at the end of that cycle. I then did another load and videoed more of the water going in etc so hopefully these videos will help with the diagnosis? Hi.. I'm glad I advised you to use a towel. That water is straying all over the place. I would try to calm the water flow down by turning down the water pressure or conversely try to make it less wibbly wobbly and shoot straight down by turning the water pressure up. I would turn off the tap and put it on fill and then turn it on a bit at a time to see if you can get a flow that just goes straight down and not deflecting at angles that make it stray outside the dispenser drawer.

As a worse case scenario you could even try removing the flow restrictor in the valve as described in my low water pressure article. Other than that maybe something's just gone awry with the dispenser.

I found your thread today and have exactly the same leak issue from the top right corner of the dispenser housing.

Did you manage to fully resolve the leak, if so can you share the solution?

I’ve ordered a new housing having cleaned and re installed the original one with no success. I’m yet to try removing the blue insert, the machine is still disassembled until the new dispenser arrives. So I’m interested to hear how you got on in the end?
