Miele Washer Dryer Technical fault

I have a Miele WT 2670 Washer dryer.

When i select the Cottons program, i get an error message "F41 please contact the service department", along with a beeping noise.

I have not had the machine long, but it seems so far, to load all the other problems ok.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Thanks very much.

Solution Summary

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Miele WT 2670 shows F41 on Cottons programme

The problem
A Miele WT 2670 washer dryer displayed error F41 with beeping when the Cottons programme was selected. The original poster said other programmes appeared to load normally.
Likely cause
The accepted reply linked F41 to a faulty EEPROM or incorrect data stored on the control PCB. This was presented from an older Miele error code list, so it was treated as likely rather than certain.
What fixed it
A power reset was suggested by unplugging the machine for about 10 minutes, and a factory reset was mentioned if available. The original poster confirmed unplugging did not clear the fault. The remaining recommendation was to have the machine checked by a Miele engineer, who may be able to reprogram the control.
Checks to try
  • Observed F41 error and beeping on Cottons programme
  • Confirmed other programmes seemed to load normally
  • Machine was unplugged to attempt a reset
  • Fault remained after unplugging

Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Hello Malcolm. I have on old list of Miele error codes so I can't guarantee they haven't changed things although I can't see why they'd need to. Mine says of error F41, "Faulty EEPROM / incorrect data". The EEPROM is a chip inside the PCB that holds data like in a computer. I can't suggest anything you can try other than to unplug the machine for 10 mins or so and see if it rights itself or if it has an option to reset to factory defaults try that. It's very much a long shot though. Would need a Miele engineer or dealer to fix otherwise.

I have tried unplugging the machine. However, the problem is still there.

As i say, the error only seems to occur on the Cottons program setting.

I thought the problem would still be there because the machine was unplugged during transit.

Hello Malcolm. Unfortunately if your error is accurately described by my error code list there is nothing I can suggest that you try. This is a very unusual fault. Basically the error is saying that there is something wrong with the EEPROM chip Or the data stored on it.

No worries Malcolm. Let us know how you get on. Miele engineers can connect their laptop to the washing machine and maybe be able to re-programme it.
