Miele WT2780 Washer Dryer - Clothes come out wet

Hi all

I've got a Miele WT2780 and the clothes are coming out wet. There is no water at all in the drum however the clothes are very wet so it seems to be an issue with the spin dry. I opened the front capsule / filter thing, let all the water drain and checked for a blockage.

I took off the drainage pipe to check for blockages. I can pour water right through the drainage pipe so I guess there is no blockage. I reattached the drainage pipe in a straight line going to a bowl just in case there was some sort of bend but the result is the same.

Even though the spin cycle sounds normal and finishes without errors I noticed that the clothes don't move they stay still during the spin cycle.

Anything else I can try?

Thanks

Miele WT2780 washer dryer leaves clothes very wet because drum is not turning

The problem
On a Miele WT2780 washer dryer, clothes came out very wet with no standing water left in the drum. The drain filter area was emptied and checked, and the drain hose was removed and found clear, but the result was unchanged. During the spin cycle the machine sounded normal and completed without errors, but the clothes stayed still and the drum did not turn.
Likely cause
Most strongly supported diagnosis is that the drum is not revolving because either the motor is not running or the drive belt has come off. The exact underlying fault was not confirmed.
What fixed it
The accepted advice was that the fault is with drum drive rather than drainage. The machine should be checked for a non-running motor or a dislodged/broken drive belt. Exact repair was not confirmed in the discussion.
Checks to try
  • Drain/filter area opened and drained
  • Drain hose removed and checked for blockage
  • Water could be poured through the drain hose
  • Drain hose was reattached in a straight line to a bowl
  • Observed that clothes stayed still during spin cycle
  • Spin cycle sounded normal and finished without errors
Parts or tools mentioned
  • Drive belt
  • Motor

Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Hello there. If the drum isn't turning at all during the cycle then the motor isn't running, or the drive belt has come off. There are many possible causes for this, all listed in detail here Washing machines drum does not revolve during the wash rinse or spin
