Aqualisa AQGMD129UK motor not turning

Hello all,

Aqualisa AQGMD129UK motor not turning; no fault codes reported by the appliance, pump-out of water works fine (although I have subsequently found that the mini water inlet value stock-cock is bust, but that's for a different day!)

Followed the guidance on this forum, belt appears to be like new and has a fair bit of tension, removed the motor to check whether the brushes are worn, but it would appear that this model has a brushless motor (i.e. no obvious place for carbon brushes to be removed / inserted, no black carbon deposits). The motor itself is part number 2165143OH.

Interestingly, when running the appliance on a 'fast wash', it appears to hold on 'wash' and doesn't move through the cycle to pump water out; we have to use the 'pump out' function to get rid of the water.

Advice and guidance appreciated - should I look to purchase a new motor, or look at the PCB, or..... call out an engineer?

Is there anything I can check further either on the motor or PCB that may be able to help diagnose further? Surprised no error codes to be honest.

Thanks for you help, Nick.

Hello Nick. I don't know if there's any extra information in my Whitegoodshelp article here - washing machine drum not turning, but with a brushless motor you'd normally test for continuity through the pins with a continuity test meter. Apart from that, and carefully checking all the wires and connectors on the motor plug it could be a motor fault, or pcb fault or if there's a capacitor to start the motor a capacitor fault.
