Our 2 year old sabotaged our new washer dryer!
Hi, I have a Grundig GWDI854 integrated washer dryer - purchased in August 2019. While I had removed the detergent drawer to clean it, my 2 year old daughter put a couple of metal hair clips in there - ie down the pipe that leads from the drawer to (I'm assuming) the drum. Will our machine continue to work fine, or do I need a technician to disassemble it to remove the items?
I tried to look for a service repair manual online but couldn't find one, so I have no idea how easy it is to repair, though I assume if I tried it myself it would void the warranty. When I called Grundig they said to call their repair service (Domestic and General), but they wouldn't give me any info on whether this a problem that needs to be repaired. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I can’t guarantee anything, but hair grips are unlikely to cause any serious damage. The most likely scenario is that they find their way into the pump filter. If you decide to keep using it then check the pump filter for them regularly.

It goes straight into the drum. The only place it can possibly go is either stay in the drum or go into the sump hose and pump filter. Lay the machine down and take off the sump hose as it could be there.
I personally would not spend potentially £100 on an engineer when a hair grip is so puny I can’t see it doing any damage at all other than potentially attract fluff and lint from laundry and eventually cause a blockage that could easily be removed or prevented by regular cleaning of the pump filter.

Thank you for your opinion, much appreciated. I managed to use a magnet on a string to fish one out but can't get to the other. Do you know where the drawer tube leads to - ie is it directly to the drum with some kind of filter before hand, or will it go to the pump filter? Just trying to gauge the chance of damage.
Alternatively if I have an engineer visit to remove - is it likely to be straightforward to remove or more of a disassembly job? Thank you.
