Bosch Serie 6 washer/dryer not draining ONLY when drying

Hi All, I have a Bosch Serie6 washer dryer and it is washing perfectly fine, but when it is drying it does not drain and the clothes then come out soaking wet. The filter isn't blocked and I've cleaned debris from the waste pipe, but really I wouldn't have thought this to be an issue as the washing cycles are draining fine. Any help or comments appreciated here!

This thread was marked as solved. Here's a summary of the problem and the fix, generated from the discussion below.

Bosch Serie 6 washer/dryer drains on wash cycle but leaves clothes wet on drying cycle

The problem
A Bosch Serie 6 washer/dryer washed and drained normally, but on the drying cycle the clothes came out soaking wet. The original poster reported that the drying cycle still spun and heated, but the water was not being drained away during drying.
Likely cause
The strongest diagnosis in the discussion was a blockage or lint build-up in the plastic condenser chamber at the back of the machine, or in the hose that allows condensed drying water to run into the main drum to be pumped away. Because the wash cycle drained correctly, a blocked drain pump was considered unlikely.
What fixed it
Recommended action was to inspect and clean the plastic condenser chamber and the hose path for condensed water into the drum. The exact repair was not confirmed in the thread.
Checks to try
  • Filter checked and reported not blocked
  • Debris cleaned from the waste/drain pipe
  • Wash cycle reported as working and draining normally
  • Drying cycle reported as spinning and heating
  • Suggested check for pump energising during drying cycle
  • Suggested check of the plastic condenser chamber at the back of the machine for lint/blockage
  • Suggested check of the hose where condensed water runs into the drum

Safety: Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

Hi, everything on the wash seems fine. The drying cycle spins and heats up but just does not drain, leaving the water to soak back into the heated clothes

As the washer works ok it can't be anything to do with the pump being blocked. If you can hear the pump energising on the drying cycle it must be that the condensed water from drying is not running into the main drum to be pumped away. Check the plastic condenser chamber at the back of the machine for build up of lint or blockages in the hose where water runs down into the drum to be pumped away.

Thanks I'll have a look. After I cleaned out the drain pipe it dried clothes for one cycle but then when I tried to repeat this on another load it went back to the fault, whilst still working fine for a wash cycle. Not sure if this assists your answer. I'll let you know how your recommendations go.

Hello there,

Realise this an old post but we have the exact same issue with the same machine, just started last night. Saw this and wondered if how/if you resolved it? Ironically, the machine is just out of its manufacturers warranty!

Thanks in advance.
