New Noise from Washer/Dryer
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can help me identify what might be wrong with my washer/dryer. During the drying period it makes an unpleasant sound for about 2/3 mins and then stops. I have included a video with the sound which I hope will help.

Hello there. I presume when the drum stops revolving that the noise stops? It sounds like the motor. To see if it's the motor for sure you would need to take off the drive belt and see if the noise still occurs when the motor revolves without turning the drum.

Thanks Andy. I will give that a go and try my best not to get electrocuted! Although with my DIY skills it's 50/50.
Hello. I didn't realise it was only in the drying cycle. If it is only happening on the drying cycle the only logical explanation is that the part making the noise is only used on the drying cycle. Obviously the main motor, and even the water draining pump are exactly the same parts used for washing and drying so it shouldn't be them.
On tumble drying cycles though there is a separate fan that blows the hot air into the drum so it would make sense to check that it isn't jammed or that it isn't the cause of the noise. It would make sense to take off the lid and very carefully listen out to see if you can locate where the noise is coming from without getting electrocuted of course!

Thanks for the reply. The noise only happens for a few minutes on each drying cycle, after the drum keeps going and the noise stops. I am not sure if that changes the advice.
I have taken a look at the suggested guidance on here but not found anything relevant.
