Beko Washer and Dryer WDX8543130W making banging and rattling sound
Hi there,
My Beko washing machine stopped working after making a banging and rattling noise. I removed the back cover to investigate and found that the belt had partially come off the pulley. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the drum has excessive up-and-down movement and I touches bottom of the machine cover and by manually moving the drum it make rattling sound . When I move the drum, the bearing shifts significantly, which makes me suspect that the drum bearing is damaged and needs to be replaced. Could any experienced person advise if this is a DIY job for this specific model? Also, what tools would I need for the repair?

Hi. It sounds like the drum bearing has collapsed or the drum spider is cracked. This is a major repair, and with most modern washing machines you have to replace the entire outer tub and inner drum, which usually makes it not worth repairing.
