Indesit Iwme12 Sticks On Rinse Cycle

Hello all, hope I am in the right section for possible answers. The machine in question is 2 years old and has been fine. At the moment we fill it, select the programme required, and it washes but then sticks on the rinse cycle and won't advance to the spin cycle. Clothes are washed and cleaned okay, but very wet. Any help most appreciated. Cheers, Spike (and a frustrated other half..)

It could be some wires shorting out, wires going to the main pcb or motor. Sometimes wires can shafe on the concrete tub weights. Alternatively maybe the carbon brushes are worn or there's some fault on the motor. With some washing machines if the motor goes open circuit during wash it won't trigger an error code (which is what should be happening if there's a fault). The fault could be intermittently righting itself allowing the washer to continue its programme.

If you saw a large blue flash I would get it looked at rather than hope everything has righted itself. It's possible something could blow or short out causing a more serious fault.

Just an up-date, I put the machine on the short wash cycle just so I could get a better idea of what is going on. I noticed a short burst of blue flashing from underneath - I guess sparks ? I turned it off pulled it out of the unit and turned the power off, removed the lid, but nothing in there for me to start and mess with, so put top back on and pushed it back in place.

I then tried the same cycle again, and it was as good as it's ever been, washed, rinsed and spun through the whole cycle and finished with the end button flashing as it should, so seems okay.

What's been the problem ? what were the sparks ? Maybe jolting it in and out has loosened something ?

Any ideas anyone ?

Many thanks for any replies.

Spike.
