Bosch Wfl2462Gb/12 Intermittent Noise
Hi I wonder if anyone can help, I changed the brushes on our washer the other day and it now works again however, it now produces an intermittent noise. It is not the drum as it can happen when the drum is still but it is like a ball bearing is inside the washer. I think it is coming from the motor as I say it happens when the drum is idle but the motor is spinning and it is not constant it can appear and disappear could I have displaced something in fitting the brushes? I am sure I put them in the right way round but the noise is definitely a worry.

If the drum is idle the motor can't be running. If it happens when it's emptying the water or preparing to spin check the water pump for obstructions or faults.

If something like a small coin or other small obstruction has got into the pump it can make quite a noise, and come and go. Imagine an impeller spinning round and something getting tangled up in it. Plastic obstructions can be thrown back out of the pump and the noise stops only for it to get sucked back in later and make the noise again. It can only be the pump though if the noise occurs only when the washer is pumping out the water. If it happens on wash or rinse when the washer isn't draining the water it can't be the drain pump. Some washing machines have a circulation pump which pumps and "circulates" water on wash or rinse...

Thanks for the reply, can I just check that it will sound like a ball bearing in a tin can being shaken and that the sound can come and go in the same cycle and be different for another wash? Thanks
