I have an Indesit WITL-105 washing machine which I bought 2 years ago. When the technician installed it he said that the filter is behind the plastic cover at the bottom and it needs to be changed every few months. When I later opened it I didn't find a filter that can be changed, only a cap that's screwed in.

Nothing needs replacing every few months, the pump filter needs checking (ideally) every several months or so but in practice most people don't need to check it and just clear it if it gets blocked.
