Hi everyone,

I have a hotpoint WF640, which every time its used its pouring loads of water out of soap draw and im getting a gurgling sound coming from dispenser to tub hose!!!

I've made sure all filters and hoses are clear... ive even strip the whole machine down trying to find the fault.

I've fitted a new pressure switch with seems for now cured the water pouring everywhere? Fingers crossed....!

However im still getting the gurgling sound?

Does anyone know what this could be?

Hotpoint WF640 leaking from soap drawer with gurgling from dispenser hose

The problem
A Hotpoint WF640 was pouring a lot of water out of the soap drawer on each use, with a gurgling sound heard from the dispenser-to-tub hose. The owner stated filters and hoses had been checked and the machine had been stripped down.
Likely cause
The leak appears likely to have been related to the pressure switch, as the owner reported that fitting a new pressure switch seemed to stop the water pouring out. The remaining gurgling was described in the accepted reply as not unusual during filling, but a partial blockage at the bottom of the dispenser or inside the dispenser-to-tub hose, machine not being level, or high water pressure were suggested as possible contributors.
What fixed it
A new pressure switch was fitted and this appeared to cure the soap drawer overflow. For the remaining gurgling, the accepted advice was to check for any partial blockage at the dispenser outlet or inside the dispenser-to-tub hose, ensure the appliance is level, and try reducing the water pressure slightly if needed.
Checks to try
  • Filters checked clear
  • Hoses checked clear
  • Machine stripped down for inspection
  • Pressure switch replaced
  • Check for blockage at bottom of dispenser
  • Check inside dispenser-to-tub hose
  • Check machine is level
  • Try reducing water pressure
Parts or tools mentioned
  • Pressure switch

It's not unusual to get a gurgling sound when filling depending on the water pressure and design. Ensure there isn't anything partially blocking the bottom of the dispenser where the water runs into the tub or stuck inside the dispenser to tub hose from the bottom of the dispenser. Also make sure the machine is level and maybe try turning the water pressure down a little if none of those bring results.

Hi now this may sound a little stupid but could the GLUG SOUND be the water going into the sink connector / water dranage when the pump drains the water from the machine.
