Indesit W113 Sticking On Wash Cycle

I wonder if anyone can offer some advice regarding the following issue.

My Indesit W113 has started to get stuck very early in a cycle. Other drain, wash and spin cycles are ok if I reset and go directly to them.

I suspect the heater or thermostat is at fault.

I disconnected & checked the heater and got approx 31 ohms reading with a meter.

I am now at a loss to find the thermostat. I'm used to seeing it embeded into the drum via a rubber grommit and with wires coming from it but I can't find any wires or any rubber grommets containing a thermostat.

Is there a thermostat that monitors water in drum temp on these machines and if so where is it located?

Is it pushed into the heater in between the heater live and neutral?

Is it not producing an error code? It sounds as if it isn't heating the water so connections to heater and the stat inside could be the issue but should be giving an error code unless it's really old.

Thanks Andy,

I worked it out late last night, replaced it today but no luck, machine still stuck ealry in cycle. Wonder if its heater element but that is reading 31ohms on a test meter which apparently means its more than likely ok. Where would you go next, a new element in anycase or something else ?
