What's Wrong With Sealed Tubs?
I noticed you dissing AEG's sealed tubs? on another topic. What are they and why are they bad? Do all AEG's have them? As you know AEG has a pretty good rep regardless.

Hello, it's not just AEG. It's because they are unrepairable, you can't even strip them down to remove obstructions. So if the drum bearings fail, the tub leaks, or something get's jammed inside you have to replace the entire outer and inner tub and drum at great expense. As far as I know they will all have them as the only reason to do it is to save on production costs.

Here's a list of current washing machines made with totally sealed tubs as supplied to me by a fellow engineer. Unfortunately that's a big percentage of available machines and more could join in..
All Hoover washing machines
All Candy washing machines
All Hotpoint washing machines
All Indesit washing machines
Bosch 'Classixx' range washing machines
Many makes sold at Argos
All makes sold at Asda
All E/lux, Zanussi and the AEG protex series have welded tubs.

It should really but they don't ever seem to look at it from a repairman's point of view, which is where I come in

Ah, so maybe Which's report should say: The AEG is one of the best washer/dryers we've ever seen (unless it breaks, in which case you're screwed).
