Indesit Wixxe 127 Replacing Pcb

hi all im new hear, just abit of advice really my indesit wixxe 127 decided to stop working? after i did some checks i realized the door lock and the loom thing had burnt? so i ordered a new door lock and a new connector for the wire thing and i got someone to come out and have a look at it, he said the motherboard has gone and only indesit can fix it as they use a laptop or something? is this right? i can get the led door lock indicator to come on i just cant get the door to lock? it wont lock lol any advice would be great!! cheers. laura x

Anyone can replace a main pcb, but if they are supplied "unprogrammed" as some are, you need technical information to programme it. It's possible you need software to do it as it's becoming increasingly common for manufacturers to control these things.
