Hello all im having a problem with my zanussi 1217w i know its pretty old now but its a great machine. When it was spinning it was getting pretty noisy i think it was maybe the bearings going. Now when we start it it fills with water then skips to drain then nothing. If it is the bearings that have gone how do i find out and is this a correct thinking. Thank you for any help offered im about to open it up and have a look inside good luck to me lol. P.S Merry christmas all.

This is ringing some bells for me from years ago with my brothers (then) zanussi. It had the same symptoms and when I removed the cover I saw a rubber hose coming from the top of the drum and I thought it had a split in it. Not sure even today what that was, but I guessed it was something to aid with too much pressure. The split was full of old soap and after cleaning it thoroughly the machine worked properly again, with no water leaks. I'm trying to dig up material from the old grey matter in my head from years ago, but that's about all I can drag out of there

ok another update, the cycle ended early and the small amount of clothes that were in the washer weren't as dry as they should be, also there was a small leak under washer.so before turning washer off i ran a drain cycle, the pump sounded like it was working but i could not hear any water running. i turned it all off unplugged everything and took it outside. I opened the drain pump at front and more water than expected escaped. i took the back right off and found the origin of the leak. it is coming from the centre of the drum the water escaping is very dirty i would supply photos but im unsure how to upload images. so my simple fix has gone out the window lol. has anyone got any ideas please can this bee sorted or is it time for a new washer?????

Ok just an update it might well be a false alarm as i open it up and got a lot of water out of it via drainage pipe so i emptied it all out, cleaned the drainage pump out and put it on and so far so good so fingers crossed it was a simple fix.
