Zanussi Jet Stream - Remove & Clean Filter/pump
I have a Zanussi Jet Stream 1400 7KG and I am having a drain error. I want to clean the filter however I can not remove it and think that the two parts in the photo attached should be stuck together and unscrew together.
Can you please confirm and suggest a solution.
Many thanks

Zanussi Jet Stream 1400 7KG drain error with filter/pump cap not removing
- The problem
- The washing machine showed a drain error and the owner could not remove the filter/pump assembly to clean it. The concern was that two visible parts should remain together and unscrew out as one piece.
- Likely cause
- The accepted reply indicated the filter assembly did not appear broken and should come out as one unit. The likely issue was difficulty releasing or accessing the filter rather than confirmed damage.
- What fixed it
- Accepted advice was that the filter should all come out. If it could not be removed from the front, the recommended approach was to drain the water first through the small drain hose on the left, then lay the machine on its front and remove the main sump hose from underneath to clear the blockage/access the pump area. The exact completed repair was not confirmed by the original poster.
- Checks to try
- Drain error present
- Visual check of the filter/pump assembly from the front
- Drain water out through the small drain hose on the left
- Access from underneath via the main sump hose if the filter will not come out
Safety: Drain all water before tilting the appliance. Further diagnosis should be carried out by a suitably qualified appliance engineer.

It doesn't look broken but yes it should all come out. If you can't work out how to do it you'll have to lay it on its front (after draining all the water out through the small drain hose to the left) and undoing the main sump hose from underneath.

Maybe you don't totally unscrew it? It doesn't seem to have a thread that needs unscrewing, only a ridge to hold it in place. If you put it back on, and then just turn it to the left enough to pull it out maybe it will bring the whole thing out?
