Hello,
Our washing machine has started leaking from the drum at the back. It will start a cycle and then start leaking and (I'm guessing) the water pours over the motor and it gives up.
If I dry it out it'll run for slightly longer and then fail again.
It's no longer under warranty. I'm happy to give this a go - does anybody have any advice for sealing this?
Thanks in advance!

That's a very awkward place to be leaking from, right onto the motor - and what caused it? Is there something inside the tub which damaged it and could do it again?
Any repair would also risk letting water leak back onto the motor if it failed in future. However, if there is a crack in the plastic it may be possible to seal it up with a soldering iron (Repair a plastic outer drum) though if possible I still wouldn't rely on it as a repair. I'd rough up as much of the plastic surrounding the crack with sand paper and use some epoxy resin like Milliput or the product mentioned in this forum topic - Repair Hole In Washing Machine Outer Drum - Plast Aid

You can get large fibreglass kits for less than £15 and they make a great repair. Can be messy, but rubbing the area with rough sandpaper first to get it clean and give a fixing.
